These pieces are a selection from a solo musician who specializes in piano, violin, and percussion. Tenfinz was inspired by the desire for something relaxing and slightly different from most of what is already out there. Tenfinz hopes to appeal to people across genres. All pieces are improvisational, produced in a home studio that looks over Deborah Bay on the South Island of New Zealand. The CD Elixir is piano only, although it contains a couple of symphony chords (from electric piano options) to create mood. The pieces are otherwise a direct capture of music, straight from the fingertips, with no modifications or editing. The theory behind this type of musical creation is that, as in life, things just happen; we then somehow have to work with what happens, both good and bad, and the complex blend ultimately becomes our life, our story, our journey. Thus, music which is extemporaneous is a mixing and blending of what comes natural. You will find that I sometimes change keys but then attempt to combine the new key with the old, as though creating an ad hoc integrated "story" that can be retold as the melody. Such is life.
Hope you enjoy it. My next one is under review at this time. Please look out for it. It will be slightly more upbeat, involving more tracks (i.e., more instruments), but a similar story-telling creative process.
