Having trouble deciding? Well, it''s hard to decide. You have to listen to all the songs before you can decide. If you only listen to the first three you''ll miss # 5, or 7, or 11, & 12 and any one of those might be worth more to you than the first three songs combined. You know the old saying, you can''t judge a book by it''s cover. Well, you can''t decide on a CD by only hearing a few songs. This site is here to let you listen to as many songs, as many times as you''d like. Take advantage of it and listen to everything, then decide.
A clarification from Horseshoe Bend Productions:
The plain truth is Jd2 has no clue who he sounds like. While "famous names" direct you to this & other pages, it does not mean Jd2 will sound like a famous name just because that name is connected to his page. On his first album Jd2 said, "you might say I sound like a growlin'' dog, a howlin'' cat & a hummin'' gerbil." In other words, don''t expect Jd2 to remind you of anything except what you think it is. You decide!

Ellen Leadfoot/Roadhog Magazine:
This is # 5 and counting for JD2. This CD deals with getting away from a number of things. Problems of the world, and heartaches to mention two. JD2 is not one for running from a problem but he does practice the time-out method of relaxation. I know he''s big on taking a break from the day to day process so he can recharge his creative perspective and bring new things to each CD. I had the chance to catch up with him on one of his highway road tours, so I sat down with him at the side of the road to discuss this new album.
Okay! First of all with these cars passing by and people waving I''m not sure if I can get this interview in or not, but I''ll start by asking you how this concept came about?
Ah, by concept do you mean the CD or my highway tours?
Well, why don''t you tell me about both?
Okay, the highway tours started a few years back when I couldn''t get any work and I needed to practice and keep up with my songs. I was amazed when I first went out on the roadways and just started playing for passing cars. People were very supportive and so I decided to keep it up. As for the new CD I think most of these songs deal with losing relationships and deciding to go find a place to think. I''ve been in those situations a few times in my life so it was not unfamiliar territory for me.
Your first 4 Cds were: I''ve Got A Long, Long, List, Everybody''s Gunnin'' 4 Me, Can''t Make A Dime (On A Broken Heart), and It''s Such A Short Time. How does this new album fit in?
Well, it fits in fine because it was next in line and I had these songs set into a subject grouping so I could make a theme concept just like my other albums. It''s not a major birth thing. I put these songs together because I thought they fit and had a common purpose.
I can''t believe all these people that are driving by and how I''m getting caught up in this like I''ve been here before. I''m waving to these people and they''re waving to me like we''re long lost friends but I''ve never seen them before in my life!
Yeah, it''s fun, when the weather''s nice. But it can get nasty when it''s rainy and cold. It''s not a lot of fun to stand on the road in those conditions but the people are still nice and surprised to see someone out here in such an unusual place playing a guitar and singing songs. I think they appreciate the change of pace during their drive. So they wave or blow their horns and go on about their daily life just like I do.
Well these folks are having fun as they pass by that''s for sure. Tell me about (I''m waving to someone here HI! – this is surreal) the songs on this album. Are they new, old, borrowed, blue?
Well, they''re a mixed bag, like a lot of my stuff. Some are new, others I''ve had for a while, but I don''t think age has anything to do with it. Just like in life. If the song''s meaningful and someone relates to it, then it''s a good song. Being new or old doesn''t matter. Some of the greatest songs ever written were done 70+ years ago and they still work today while some of the worst songs ever written were done last week.
Well I hope you put a few pictures of this event in this album.
I just might do that because I haven''t been able to do that yet, although I''ve been doing these highway gigs for a number of years now. So maybe that''s something I''ll do. After all it is about axles turnin'' so why not!
What''s next after this?
Well for me I''m stopping at the coffee shop before I head back to the studio to mix down a few things for my next album.
How much is left to do on that?
I''ve got a few things to clean up on it. It''s called "Leftover Bits/Eat A Muffin Take A Sip (drip, drip)" I''ll explain the title the next time around. I''ve got to get back up here and do another 30 minute set so I can call it a day on the highway and get some coffee. Thanks for reading and listening everyone, C U on the highway of life. Beep! Beep!
