Details:
"Bright Ideas." A fitting title for the first professional release from Saskatoon''s Jiminy. As it becomes evident in even the six songs on the EP, this band is not short of ideas. Whether it is due to teeming creativity or just short attention spans, the band manages to travel in and out of Pop, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk and Rock on "Bright Ideas." Dually fronted by singer/songwriter Chad Reynolds, and rapper/songwriter Mark Ejack (who is also on drums), Jiminy has crafted a sound that is unabashedly catchy and appealing, while being completely unique.

On "Bright Ideas," the amalgamation of so many music styles into one product is balanced by a clear summertime energy found throughout all the songs.
Trumpet (Patrick Wood) and turntables (Turntable Terror-wrist) are perfect accompaniments to the songs held together so well by the bold and groovy basslines of Enver Hampton and the smooth, soulful guitar playing of Guitarist Andrew Dickson.

In just one year, Jiminy has had the privilege of playing shows across western Canada to much acclaim from fans, and have played with the likes of Shad, Hey Ocean!, DNA6, Current Swell, The Rebellion, and Mobadass. The band has plans for a second release in 2009 and if they continue to come up with ideas like these, Jiminy should have a bright future ahead of them in Canadian music.
