Erica Holcomb was born in one of the United States on a dark, apocalyptic night in March. A child prodigy, she amused herself by building rudimentary steam engines, producing radio melodramas, and time-travelling in between learning how to sing and play the harp. She now studies and resides in Edinburgh, making her living by recording music from her living room, and by busking during Scotland’s annual three days of clement weather. Her highly narrative style of songwriting draws on her background in storytelling, while her sound is influenced by the rich folk traditions of southern Appalachia and the Scottish lowlands.
