This CD, this album of songs, this compilation of (old) E-Tunes, would never have been possible if it weren''t for the kindness, patience and sheer generosity of their buddy Bob Brown of Billings, Mont. Bob recorded tracks 1 - 7 on the CD as a GIFT to Earthshine! Meaning, FOR FREE!!! WHAT a great guy!!! When you see him, be sure and thank him on our behalf.
Bob recorded these songs LIVE. So, what you get on this disk is raw Earthshine, which turned out pretty darn good, really. And excitingly, in this world of falsehood and deception, this album offers listeners the fun of a REAL performance, UNEDITED!! So, enjoy this - you don''t find this little luxury very often anymore!
One caveat - after completing the recording, Earthshine''s Kris (Lottie) and Scott Prinzing actually were able to add the harmonica playing of famed nature writer GARY FERGUSON to the song using their own little Pro Tools setup! This was a major feat for them, and hopefully it will lead to other recording capacity for themselves in the future. Don''t hold your breath though!
Three songs from a previous (failed) recording attempt in Bozeman in 2004, and a song that was really quite a recording success story (with the multi-talented Brad Edwards of Woods Recording in Billings) are bonus tracks on the album.
On this album of songs, you may hear some of their near-sibling harmonies, their Geddy Lee, Kerry Livgren, Ann Wilson, John Dowland, Georg Phillip Telemann, Bruce Cockburn, https://www.tradebit.comia/Persia/https://www.tradebit.coma influences, and PinkFloydian-AlanParsonsian-ethnic-sound-scape-ifications. Or you may not - let us know what you think you hear in our music!
Don''t forget - if you need to describe us to someone, or are trying to get a sense of what we do, the above comparisons, our influences page and the following statement will help: Earthshine plays thoughtful, original contemporary acoustic music with a social and environmental conscience - with no major keys allowed, by the way. (Well, maybe one or two...)
