Anna Mullin''s CD, "Tender Moments" was recently nominated in several categories for the Gospel Music Association''s "Dove Awards." The CD was nominated for "Inspirational Album of the Year," nine of the ten songs were nominated for "Inspirational Song of the Year," and producer, David Kight, was nominated for "Producer of the Year." The awards ceremony will take place in Nashville, TN, on April 13, 2005.
Anna Mullin is an honors graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman''s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, with a double major in Music and English. Her religious works have been published by Abingdon Press (The Methodist Publishing House) and the Gregorian Institute of America (The Catholic Publishing House).
Commissioned by the Gadsden-Etowah Tourism Board, she composed the words and music for the religious drama, Jerusalem''s Gate, which opened at the historic Mort Glosser Amphitheater as the centerpiece for the Gadsden, Alabama, Millennium Celebration in the spring of 2000. She and arranger/orchestrator, Mark A. Harris, then created a contemporary version, entitled Always, which premiered at CrossPoint Community Church in 2002.
In addition to composing, Anna has been involved as a soprano soloist in many theater, church, and civic performances. She has been a guest soloist with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at its Pops Concert, singing two pieces which she composed for the occasion. She has also played leading roles in the stage productions of The King and I, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Some Enchanted Evening, as well as being the soprano soloist for Dubois'' The Seven Last Words of Christ and Handel''s The Messiah.
Anna and her husband, broadcaster Neil Mullin, live with their two children in Gadsden, Alabama. A former Alfred B. Maclay National Equitation Champion, Anna divides her time between music and hunter horses, giving riding clinics and judging horse shows throughout North and South America.
Mark Harris
Mark A. Harris, the male vocalist in the songs God Forgives, Pure As Gold, and Heart and Soul, graduated from the University of Mobile, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts in Music/Vocal Performance and a minor in Religious Studies. He has been a church worship leader and music director since the age of sixteen and an ordained minister since 1990.
Mark grew up in Mount Hebron, a small rural community in north Alabama, and gained early musical experience from singing in local Pentecostal churches. As a young adult, he was a soloist in the operetta, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and sang in the well-known Boar''s Head presentation in Mobile, Alabama. During Easter Week, 2000, he played the role of Joseph of Arimethea in the musical drama, Jerusalem''s Gate, then collaborated with Anna Mullin, providing new arrangements and orchestrations to create the contemporary version, Always, in 2002. Mark also serves as a soloist with the Gadsden-Etowah Community Choir and Orchestra.
Mark is married to the former Lisa Wright, and they have two children. Since 1997, their church home has been the rapidly growing CrossPoint Community Church, where Mark serves as Minister of Music and Worship.
David Davidson
David Davidson (violin and viola) served as Concert Master of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for several years before becoming a Nashville studio musician. His artistry on strings has been captured in approximately 15,000 recordings, including the hit song, I Can Only Imagine, as well as songs by celebrated Contemporary Christian singer, Michael W. Tim Parton
Tim Parton (piano) is the Worship Leader at Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tennesee, and has been a sought-after Nashville studio musician for the past five years. He has served as keyboardist for The Speer Family, Gold City, and the Gaithers and appears in the Gaithers'' Homecoming video.
