Having begun with the almost legendary Cinnamon, bassist Kevin Cooper has moved through the Vancouver scene with groups like Ashley Park, Saturnhead, the Salteens, Sean MacDonald, Adrienne Pierce, Mike Weterings, Team Strike Force, the Kelly Affair, Veronica Sawyer and recording artist Lily Frost. In addition to pop gigs Kevin also plays with the Burnaby and Westcoast Symphonies, as well as with notable jazz group the Flo Trio.
Marc Wild listened to Led Zeppelin in his teens. This influence, along with that of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whom he got to play with during an audition in Los Angeles, resonates in his distinct guitar sensibility. Electronics to spare. Marc assembled Reflector, an experimental project that played the Vancouver International Jazz Festival 2000 and 2001. He has also worked with Lily Frost, and has recently finished an album with Jessie Farrell.
Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chad Horton is another alumnus of Lily Frost. He co-wrote a large part of her debut album Lunamarium, including the hit single Who Am I? His imagination is saturated with song structure, with melodic movement. Among his influences are John Lennon, Radiohead and Kurt Cobain.
A well-rounded musician, drummer Niko Friesen studied in the jazz program at Capilano College for three years. His first pop gig was Lily Frost, but he''s since played with Bocephus King, Adrienne Pierce, Kinnie Starr, Idle Eyes, Craig Jacks, Mike Weterings, Myk Gordon and Jack Harlan. Along with the rest of Motion Soundtrack he has played with Boy. He continues to gig regularly with various Vancouver jazz artists like Bruno Hubert and Steve Fisk.
