Details:
Heaven is my musical interpretation of a soul''s journey from the moment of death to the moment of redemption. It is intended to paint an emotional picture of an uncertain path; one traveled with tentative steps, fraught with fear, trepidation, and loss, but leavened with hope and faith.
Passage - The soul leaves the old world and enters the new; with unexpected impact. It is a fearful place at first, wrenching the newly-perceived senses... awareness comes of a journey ahead.
The Light Of Valhalla - The soul realizes what has happened, senses a direction, but is dark and confused. Movement begins.
The Haunted - The soul reflects on past existence; sorrows for transgressions; weeps for caused pain, revels in shared joy.
The Journey - The soul more confidently moves onward, purposefully striding toward the destination. More time to reflect, to rest, to wonder.
The Sentinel - A pause; the soul realizes that reckoning is at hand, that spiritual recompense is needed. Contemplation follows; unrest, hope, confusion again.
Despair - The soul retreats to an embryonic state, a barren, open, exposed place. A grain of sand in a massive, all white space, no sense of direction. Fear, dread, even irrational terror and hopelessness mix with a growing sense of hope and light.
Ascension - Realization dawns; light is everywhere. A fierce sense of achievement, victory, joy, and love intermingled with longing for what has passed. A brilliant light cracks the dawn, redemption is gained, the soul ascends...
