This record was produced at Sound of Music Studios (owned by rock legends Cracker and platinum record producer John Morand). I worked as an intern and secondary engineer cleaning rock star vomit for 9 months while I was making the record. I learned a lot.
The Igniter has a lot of similarities to Wilco or Cracker. There is also an Appalachian feel to many of the songs, provided by Special Ed and The Shortbus, a Richmond String Band. If they are playing on the track, it''s because I wrote the song for them. One of my teachers, Andrew Winn, plays guitar and keyboards on Beautiful Dreams, and Fade To Heat.
I studied music performance and composition at Va Tech in Blacksburg Va, and VCU in Richmond Va. I am currently living in Texas, working on a MM in String Bass performance and pedagogy at University of Houston. I am a performer and string bass teacher, and an instructor at San Jacinto University.
If you dig:
