Looner are a duo from Hollywood who sound anything but American. Angel Roche Jr and Zoë Poledouris have somehow cultivated a sound not unlike that coming out of the UK Independent scene a few years ago. With more of an emphasis on guitar melody than fast ''punk'' beats that their home counterparts are releasing, it is somewhat refreshing to find a band that can both rock and groove without pretence.
On this mini album CD release, either Zoë or Angel takes the vocal duties but surprisingly they do not perform duets on any of the songs. But when the songs get going, like it does on the short NO LONGER AROUND, you wonder why they are not getting much exposure. In fact, they seem to be gaining a reputation as a must see live band. Looner has produced an EP that does actually whet your appetite for more.
