Details:
Beata E. Golec is a concert pianist and composer. She was born in Gliwice, Poland as a first child of Alicja and Dariusz Golec. Beata started playing piano at age 7, and at age 13 decided to pursue cello studies as well. Beata’s first compositions were written at age 13, but the official recognition for her as a composer came three years later- in 1997, when she received an award for “Fantazja Polska” for piano and cello at the “Patri Patriae” All-Polish Composers Competition for a piece dedicated to Pope John Paul II. “Fantazja Polska” premiered at Ars Cameralis Silesiae Superioris Festival in 1997 (Katowice, Poland) by Beata E. Golec and Miroslaw Makowski. The score of the piece is currently kept in Vatican.
Beata completed her undergraduate education in Poland at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (piano performance studied under Jerzy Sterczynski) and at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (composition and music theory under Edward Boguslawski).
Since 2003 she has been studying at Eastman School of Music on a full- tuition scholarship and received a MM degree in piano performance in 2005. She is currently a doctoral candidate in piano performance at Eastman School under Professor Rebecca Penneys.
Several of Beata''s compositions have been launched at Women in Music Festival in Rochester, NY (2005, 2006, 2007). The list of the performed compositions includes: Four preludes for piano, "Phobia" for piano, "Forests" for piano, "Toccata" for piano, "Clouds" for marimba and vibraphone, Toccata No. 1 for organ.
In October 2006- April 2007 Beata has been chosen the Artist of the Month by the directors of the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition (Beata has been the first prize winner of this competition twice- in 2005 and 2006 and received the second prize in 2007).
Beata’s newest CD album consisting of compositions by J. L. Zaimont, A. Part, W. A. Mozart and B. Golec was released on October 5th, 2007.
