Details:
The two founding members were Michele Zabel (now Wismer) and Kathy Kennedy (now Nichols). They started out in the early 80''s as an acoustic duo playing mainly popular folk songs from the 60''s and 70''s. In the mid 80''s Kathy switched from guitar to electric bass and they added drummer Lisa Hammack to the mix. Their sound began evolving in a new direction toward acoustic-electric rock, incorporating new instrumental techniques and stronger vocal dynamics. During this time Michele became a prolific songwriter. Both the band and the original songs received praise and critical acclaim from The Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Observer, as well as other Texas music magazines. The band split up in 1990 and reunited briefly in 1991 before moving on to other endeavors. Lisa played drums for Country Mile, then later moved to Mississippi and Kathy served as bassist for Crosswinds and later the Wilder and Wyatt Band. Michele continued to play solo for a few years before moving on to a corporate career path. My Brave Love, formerly Back to Zero, has released a CD called "Heaven in Your Arms" . Lisa has moved back to Dallas and the band is playing gigs again.

MY BRAVE LOVE. Wow. I was fortunate enough to see Michele and Kathy perform at The Tipperary Inn last night as an acoustic duo. I have not been as excited due to what was coming from that stage in quite some time. I was struck by Michele''s passionate writing, voracious guitar playing, and incredible vocals. Michele can really play the bejesus out of that rhythm guitar! Kathy''s bass lines were right on time and her harmonies were spot-on. Overall, they displayed a passion and enthusiasm I have rarely seen, and I see countless acts, week in, and week out. These ladies are completely memorable from the first song to the last. The live show was amazing. I also listened to the upcoming CD and the playing on the CD is amazing, the vocals are amazing, the harmonies are amazing, and I am awestruck my Michele''s ability to drive the band with her acoustic guitar. These guys are worth every penny you spend for the CD and live show. Make a POINT to come hear these guys. You will not be disappointed.

"As a songwriter Ms. Zabel displays both a novelist''s eye for striking detail and a poet''s gift for evocative language. She writes love songs as if no one had ever done so before, her observations and confessions ringing with a sense of discovery and revelation that can be startling." – Tom Maurstad, The Dallas Morning News

"Michele Zabel…conveys romantic love in all of its myriad obsessions and contradictions with an impassioned clarity....…naked in her revelations, needing no armor of cynicism to touch and be touched. Unafraid of being afraid, she posseses the most intimidating of personal forces; the courage to hope." – Tom Maurstad, The Dallas Observer
