Keep It Alive was produced by Mark Lankford at EML Studios in Mannheim, Germany with the exception of the drums which were arranged by Mark Lankford, played by Todd Sorensen and recorded by Guy Randle at Rosewood Recording Company and sub-mixed by Guy Randle with Mark Lankford performing the final mixdown. Drumming on "Will You Follow Me?" and "I Hear the Thunder" were arranged and performed by Mark Lankford and were recorded at EML Studios. This project was mastered at The Sound Lab in New Jersey by Tom Scheponik, Senior Mastering Engineer, and by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound in New York. Tom has mastered many up and coming artists and Ryan has mastered many well known artists i.e. Green Day, Motley Crue (Carnival of Sin - Live), Talking Heads (Several Cuts), and Cyndi Lauper (At Last) to name a few.
Mark has been involved in music in some form or another for over 34 years. He played in many local bands in Birmingham, Alabama, played in a band in Livorno, Italy, and was in a band in Sacramento, California. Mark performed as a guitarist in most but also played the bass, keyboards, and drums in other projects. Mark is a well rounded musician and brings a unique international perspective to his songwriting.
Mark started recording and mixing while he was in Panama and was featured on the local FM radio station program "Diamond FM" playing some of the songs that were popular on https://www.tradebit.com at the time. Mark was featured on the original https://www.tradebit.com under the band name Gateway.
While in Korea Mark honed his song and lyric writing while laboring intensly to master recording and mixing skills.
Mark is currently in Germany where he has spent the last eight years writing and recording a nice collection of tunes. That work has resulted in the world-wide release of "Keep It Alive" and an online only CD EP tittled "Stark Refelections" that was developed for and dedicated to many MySpace folks that are fans of his music.
When Myong was very young and growing up in Korea, she found herself singing for everyone that would listen. She really enjoyed making others happy. As she grew older her interest in music grew stronger. She found herself singing everywhere she could but her first real public performance was in church back in the nineties as she explored her musical talents in that type of venue.
Mark & Myong wrote many of their own songs back in the nineties and caught the attention of a local DJ in Panama. They were featured on the air in 1995 on a local FM station there. After the program aired the local paper did a full page feature article on Mark and Myong covering their musical ambitions and endeavors.
Having had those experiences gave Myong more encouragement to sing and also learn to play the piano. Performing and learning how to play during the last 8 years lead to her to writing songs with Mark her husband. This experience gave her an even greater confidence to express her talent in musical form.
Myong is the featured vocalist in the rock group EMMSLY.
