Details:
Just like the universe New York Electric Piano is expanding. Joining Aaron Comess on drums, Tim Givens on bass, and Pat Daugherty on pianos are some of the East Village''s most illustrious musicians; Leon Gruenbaum starting showing up at the band''s gigs and Pat D. asked him to bring his Samchillian ( an instrument Leon invented ) and sit in with the band. He never left! Then notorious hornman Till Behler played on a show and the NYEP fans demanded he be included from there on. Vocalist Deanna Kirk sat in with the band at the Cutting Room and her and Pat''s rendition of Why Are We Here? became part of the repertoire. She''s featured on 3 tracks here, check her out on the beauty of ambiguity. Finally while recording the music, Mal Stein added bits of soundscape that added a delicious layer of mystery. Roman Klun did a masterful job mixing this wide range of material and Steef van de Gevel helped Pat engineer the premix. Both Roman and Steef contributed greatly to this record. Andy Heermans of Polywog Recording Co. used his great ears to master the CD. This music is a departure from NYEP''s trio albums, which you can find here on CDBaby. Thanks to the radio stations who''ve played NYEP and to the listeners who remind us that music matters. Enjoy the bounty that is King Mystery.
