Somewhere on a mountaintop in the northwest corner of New Jersey, you can hear a sound. It''s a sound unlike any before and its getting louder. Follow the sound and it leads you to Shack Studio and The Pacifists of Fury. Here''s the math: four passionate people, 14 instruments, 80+ years combined experience, and a brand new CD.
The P.O.F. will soon release their debut album Battle Hymns, Vol. 1. Battle Hymns was recorded at Shack Studio by legendary producer/engineer Dwayne "D2" Sumal. Sumal has worked with the likes of Kid Rock, Busta Rhymes, Naughty By Nature, and Ziggy Marley, to name a few. The album is a marriage of traditional instruments such as stand-up bass, violin, trumpet, pennywhistle, tuba, flute, and guitars, against a backdrop of sampled beats. This forms a sound unlike any before, with songs that will make you laugh, cry, think, and wonder why. Imagine swingin'' hillbilly hip-hop, with a little bit of folk and a lot of rock, and you''ve only begun to scratch the surface of The P.O.F.
Now that you know a little bit about us, heres who we are: Sam Magill (ThKind, Big Boss Sausage), Dwayne Sumal (Shack Studio), Stacy Joergle (MacGillicuddy Reeks, The Forestburgh Playhouse), and Jeremy Stevens (The Unruly Pilgrims).
