Details:
AD/ AS PROJECT:
"Beyond Human Aid" is about deconstructing, relearning and creating anew the music that precedes us, through experimentation with our instruments. It is about spreading love to whoever wants it.
BAND BIO:
We have all played with really famous people like Anthony Braxton, except not him [END BAND BIO].
While in Vermont this ensemble created a moving hub through which players and consumers of music experimented, improvised and recreated their own musical ideology. This process changed our lives, and many others.
"Beyond Human Aid" is an attempt to document these life changing moments and the live energy of this group, whose sound was developed over the years they played weekly at Burlington Vermont''s famed Radio Bean Cafe (usually in quartet form - Santor, Cassarino, Carr and McNamara).
I hope you can take the time to listen to this 45 minute recording in its entirety. You will learn something useful, I promise.
The album art for "Beyond Human Aid" was done by Kalmia Traver. Her work is beatiful. The back of the album features a collage about war and includes letters written home by American soldiers while stationed in Vietnam and Iraq. It''s heavy.
THE ENSEMBLE IS:
Anthony Santor - Bass
Alex Wolston - Trumpet
Andy Allen - Alto
Bryan McNmara - Alto
Nick Cassarino - Guitar
Ari Diaconis - Congas
Geza Carr - Drum Kit
Progress is. Love to you.
