Music influences were of course the same as a millions others, the Beatles, Dylan, and admiration for the Rolling Stones and Neil Young. In my opinion their music set a standard but the longevity and diverse body of work demonstrates the power of artistic value.
With a blend of folk, pop rock and country, I taught myself to write songs to become what some people call a song stylist, I say, “fine by me.” Songwriting became an addiction.
What keeps me going is the adrenaline rush when a new song starts to emerge, “It’s actually a freedom of time and space and I get to share.” “I pretty much try to stay out of the way and let my subconscious of emotions, intellect and humor take over.”
LEW AND HIS BAND
A variety of guest artists are invited to recording sessions as needed. Musicians are selected for the instrument they play and the sound they make to capture the atmosphere of each song. The band ranges from a standard four piece pop rock band to grass roots acoustic ensembles. Invited musicians include string and/or horn players, organists, backup singers, even a xylophonist. These talented artists are the members of the band. If they could all get together at the same time, it''d be one heck of a killer show, and you’re invited.
