Details:
Butane MacLane is a Blue Rocker. He is the Real Deal. Originally from Parts Unknown, he now resides on the side of an Ozark Mountain called Rattlesnake Hill with his axes and his dog, JoJo. At the age of five, Butane taught himself to play the piano after dreaming he could play "My Darlin'' Clementine". When Elvis was on television, he used a fireplace broom for a guitar until his fingers bled. Elvis was cool, but the King didn''t quite cut it for Butane. It was the "Architect" that fired Butane''s soul -- his man -- Little Richard.
As a teen, Butane attended the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals, especially the daytime workshops. He had one-on-one time with many of the greats: John Lee Hooker, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, and two white boys Butane admires to this day, John Hammond, Jr. and Bob Dylan. One event at Newport stands out, the day he met Mr. Howlin'' Wolf. When he saw the WolfMan perform, Butane nearly wet his pants with excitement and fear.
So where has Butane been all these years? Waiting, practicing, patient, observing, ready for the right moment. The time is Now.
