Details:
"Break the Silence" is a CD of the music I sing when ministering at ladies'' retreats. I have been writing and singing music for the past 15 years at churches in areas where I have lived - whether it be Florida, New Jersey, Mississippi, Indiana, Texas, Maryland, or Okinawa, Japan. I have been married to a career Air Force officer for 21 years, so home is where the military (and Jesus!) sends us. While moving every few years I also home schooled our two children, David and Sarah, all the way from kindergarten to college. David is now attending Philadelphia Biblical University and Sarah is a high school junior. Raising my children has been my principal "job" all these years.

Over the years I also wrote music about the struggles I faced as a wife and mother. "Break the Silence", the title song, is a confession of failure to share the gospel; "Bow My Knee" contrasts complaining vs. praying; "Where Are You, God?" is a modern day psalm, on a day when nothing seems to be going right but then God comes with blessing. The duet part, where God answers, is incredible. "From the Mother of the Prodigal Son" is just as it sounds - a look at what she might have been thinking and feeling as her son went away -- and came back. "Let Me Let You Father Me" was written specifically for a retreat to inner-city women who had been abused in the past. "Come to Me" actually started out sounding like a country song, but by the time we were done with it, the song became the quietest ballad on the CD. "If Anyone Desires to Follow Me" sounds like something Twila Paris would sing. Each song reaches out to the place where women struggle to reconcile faith with real life, and faith always wins. One joke my husband has mentioned over the years is that when I sing for people, it makes them cry. But it is true that when I sing there is rarely a dry eye in the house. The music touches hearts, breathing the fresh breath of God''s spirit into them so that He can change them. I see myself as the pre-speaker preparation at retreats -- I sing, awaken the ladies'' hearts, and then the speaker comes with the Word.

I would be happy to come sing for a ladies'' event at your local church or retreat. Please contact me at judyhubbard@https://www.tradebit.com for demos to send to retreat planning people, or for any other information.
