Details:
JoAnn Riedl is too punk for coffee shops yet too acoustic for metal heads. She is a D.I.Y. singer-songwriter residing in Milwaukee, WI. and has been playing out since 1998. JoAnn plays with such intensity switching between acoustic and electric guitars that she brings the term singer-songwriter to a new level. Her music contains issues on sexism, environmental destruction, human rights, and whiskey lovers... Influenced by diverse musicians as Led Zepplin, PJ Harvey, Ani Difranco, The Lawrence Arms, The Police and more, Riedl with her deep rich voice and charging guitar chords she''ll have you movin your feet, boppin your heads, and wanting to start a revolution.
In 2003 JoAnn Riedl joined up with bassist Nick Matthes, playing shows going by the name JoAnn Riedl and Kicked Out Scout. Keeping somewhat to her solo style, JoAnn Riedl and Kicked Out Scout released their first full length album, "distracting you distracting me," June 11, 2005. Adding to their flavor on the album is Ben Hans on drums.
