On a Personal note:
"Tests of fire"
"In 2001, during a show opening for Tower of Power at the Radisson Hotel Grove in Sacramento, I experienced a knife-like pain in my back. MRI''s discovered a bone chip had broken off and crushed my L3 nerve. I was in a wheelchair for almost a year and lost most of the muscle mass in my left leg, leaving it partially paralyzed. Spinal surgery, continuous physical therapy, a strong faith and the love of friends and my beautiful wife, Patty, got me walking again. Music alleviates the pain so I perform more now than I did before the incident. I have to admit, there were times I was ready to go home to my Lord.
My faith was further tested the beginning of 2008 when, coming home from a long distance show, I fell asleep on a deserted road, totalled my car and made a mess of myself. Thank God, no one else was involved or injured. My van was crushed. A handtruck flew forward and sliced open the skin on the back of my head. The airbags saved my life. I woke up and called 911 on my cell phone. They pried me out of the van, took me to the hospital and stitched me up.
After an unrelated surgery, I lost my voice for over five months (that''s especially scarey for a professional singer). The specialist said I lost a lot of weight and my vocal cords were "reversed". They put me on steroids to try and get my voice back. Meanwhile, I hired a beautiful vocalist, Dayna Wills (related to legendary country artist, Bob Wills) to sing with the https://www.tradebit.com still does shows with the trio today. My musical partner, Michael Samaritano, Dayna and the other musicians in Crystal Image (we use various artists for different packages and genres of the band) are like family. So are our devoted fans. I love the opportunity to get to know our family of fans better. Often, they have stories to share that are much more powerful than mine. I share my experiences at some shows (we do over 200 a year) when I feel it''s appropriate and might help others to survive a life altering experience. My voice has returned, and I give thanks for every single day and the wonderful blessings in my life. We are currently working on an inspirational acoustic unplugged cd project titled "Country Folk". I hope our music, live and recorded, brings joy to those who listen to it."
Love and hugs!!
