“…refreshing…” Downbeat

Exploring styles which include post-bop, ECM, and New Orleans-influenced rhythms, the original tunes on Range of Motion bear the unifying voice of a strong compositional hand supported by exceptional playing by all the album''s musicians. This, the second release by Chicago-based pianist/composer JO ANN DAUGHERTY, combines high standards of musicianship with a fresh, radio-friendly approach to new acoustic instrumental jazz that has met with enthusiasm by critics and listeners alike.
