Here''s a news flash for all of you "Blues Lovers" here in the states, and across the Pond to our friends in Ireland: I have been very blessed these last two months to have the honor of listening to one of the best blues songwriters, singers, and guitars players that has showed up on myspace since I, myself , have become a member of this community of great singers, writers, and players.

When Billy first sent me his CD to listen to I was truly shocked at what was blaring back at me out of my own jeep cd player. I literally pulled into a parking lot in my hometown, and just turned off my jeep, and began to listen very intently to just how talented this Billy Green really was. I thought to myself; holy smokes. I wonder if this man has a clue as to just how good he truly is?

It didn''t take me long contacting Mr. Billy Green, and I asked him if I could do a CD Review on his material. I am sure he thought; ok.. who are you, and did you miss your meds today lady? :) In all seriousness folks, I honestly did contact him instead of the usual routine of the artist contacting me, and asking me to do one for them.

Billy Green is an awesome blues guitarist, and an even more prolific blues writer. His melodies are very infectious indeed. The instant you put in his CD to listen to; you can''t help yourself at all; you will automatically start tapping your toes then the rest of you just takes on a mind all it;s own, and you are up out of your seat, and you find yourself dancing with nobody but you: True Story:

I know that his song titled "Belfast City Blues" will make you want to get up, and slap your Mama it''s so good. You have it all going on in that one song. You will just want to go down to their local Irish Pub, and order yourself a pint of ale to go with that beat. And, if you do take the time to really listen to the lyrics you are certainly taken away on the wings of one great story.

The next song titled, "Midnight Train" will have an even bigger impact on your musical senses as you listen to it. That is a song that all of us can relate to in one form or, another. Billy is very strong on his guitar prowess, and just as strong vocally as well. He leaves nothing out in this song. It takes the listener to the last seat on that midnight train headed just anywhere but where you are at when the song first starts to play.

Now when you get down to some real bluesy rock, and roll kind of songs that Billy also includes on his self titled CD; you will absolutely love the song titled; "Cute Little Rock and Roller". That is one that has you on your feet from the first note to the very last note, and actually leaves you wishing that the song wasn''t over yet. It is infused with everything that Billy can possibly include insomuch as to still consider it a blues song with a strong rock flavor to it.

The next song that will reach down in the recesses of your soul, and just grab hold of you is a song titled; "Working Man Blues" not to be confused with an american Icon named Mr. Merle Haggard who also had a song with that same title in the country music field back in the early seventies: However, Billy''s song is one that tells of a different kind of working man blues as to that of Mr. Haggards; once you hear it you will then appreciate it for what it is in the blues, and rock genre''.

And, my final song that I am focusing on here is one titled; "Love You Tonight" which happens to be my favorite one on his CD. This is a song that is the best bluesy yet upbeat tempo love ballad if you will that I have ever heard. I have played that one song at least one hundred times in the last two months for sure. It is a song that once you hear it you will never forget it. It truly is a song with staying power. You may forget the singer of that song but, you will never forget the song itself. It is that kind of song. I do believe it is one that it truly wouldn''t matter who recorded it? It would be an instant number one song for them.

I do hope that all of you will take the time to visit Billy Greens'' myspace page, and take a listen to these five songs I have focused my review on today. You will not be disappointed in the least. You will be doing yourselves the biggest favor by checking all of his material out, and go ahead, and download his songs through the mp3 player system we have here. You will love everything this extremely talented man does.

He is one man for all ages who happens to love some really good blues, and rock guitar playing like you haven''t heard in some time. We have let the record companies water down our blues until we have lost sight of just what the blues community has given to our world of music. We need to put those precious songs back into the very capable hands, and voices of the likes of the Billy Greens'' of this world. I hope you will all just take a click on Billys picture as he is my 1 friend on my friends list which will make him that much easier to find for all of you who wants to add him to your friends list.

I have never led you wrong on any of the artists that I have done my review roundup for, and Billy Green is no exception to my own rule. If it wasn''t so I would have told you: So, take my advice, and just give him, and his page a visit, and tell him that MzMona sent you:

/>Belfast, Northern Ireland comes Billy Green. His self produced CD ''Lonesome Road'' showcases his immense talents. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player and producer. The great thing is that none of the areas appear weakened by his undertaking them all. His influences are clearly evident, but not merely copied , Albert Collins, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton. The opening track ''Torment in my soul'' exhibits some great harp playing, in fact the harp playing is the driving force behind the CD. That is not to say his guitar playing or singing is weak, quite the contrary. The title track ''Lonesome Road'' has that early Dylanesque quality to it...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
