Rollanda Lee is a unique singer with a wealth of experiences. On the Jazz scene for many years internationally, Rollanda has performed in Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Germany, Holland and the U.S. and sings in 7 languages. She was fortunate enough to sing in Hawaii with the Del Courtney Orchestra along with John Norris & The News Orleans Jazz Band of Hawaii for approximately 20 years. She has performed at various Jazz Festivals such as Sacramento, Medford, Oregon, Great Falls & Helena, Victoria Hot Jazz, Calgary''s C-Jazz and the Edmonton International Jazz Festival. Rollanda is the president of the Dixieland Jazz Society of Alberta, a position she has held for many years and keeps traditional jazz alive in Edmonton.
The Canadian Hot Stars Jazz Band is a collection of some of the best Jazz musicians in Canada. Trumpet player Al Muirhead performed with the 1988 Olympic Orchestra under Tommy Banks and toured Hungary, Germany, and Switzerland with the " New Orleans Connection " Dixieland Band. He has also performed in many orchestras backing such touring celebrities as Manhattan Transfer, Dizzie Gillespie, Pattie Page, Red Skelton, Paul Anka and Cleo Laine. A talented pianist and composer, Andrew Glover is an accomplished pianist and composer. He is credited with a huge body of work which extends to Europe and the U.S., as well as his home town of Edmonton AB Canada. John Taylor is a well respected and very busy bass player with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Edmonton Jazz Orchestra and many other groups. Doug Innes on clarinet and sax is a wonderfully talented Traditional/Dixieland player who has played with the best. Jim English has been co-leader of the Wild Rose Allstars from Calgary and has one of the purest tones on trombone. Wes Yaciuk on guitar/banjo is extremely versatile in many styles of music and is another local great. Dean Pierno on drums has been busy with jazz clinics, and teaches music and facilitates drumming circles when not playing with the bands.
