Details:
Vince Hatfield has long proven himself to be a connoisseur of the fine art of country music.

As other successful men might enjoy a collection of fine wine, or world travels, the Texas born singer/songwriter has savored being a patron of, and participant in the world of his own personal passion—country music. Never was this love affair more evident than on his latest CD collection, A Little More Time.

The album follows the course of a career history that has already included five Billboard singles that have reached the Top 100, as well as major scores on the Music Row and New Music Weekly charts. His 2007 album release, Texas-Dreams, Boots & Jeans, produced five nationally charting radio singles.

With the success of his latest single, Stuck On You, ,scoring high with both country radio and the national charts, it also stayed at number one for 2 weeks in the New Music Weekly charts. Vince is living his boyhood dream.

Growing up in the small west Texas town of Big Spring, Texas, the son of a hard working welder and oil refinery worker, his life was set to music at an early age. When divorce tore the fabric of the family and a back injury disabled his dad, forcing Vince to split school with long hours of work, country music was his creative escape from the tough realities of life. “I can remember family gatherings where my dad and my mom’s family would sit around and play Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins songs, and pick finger style guitar like Merle Travis and Chet Atkins. They encouraged me to sing and develop my music—and it’s a memory I’ll never forget,” notes Vince.

Recording early sessions in Odessa and Lubbock, it was a ‘cold call’ to country music legend, Charlie McCoy that set Vince’s career tract to Nashville. “I was a tremendous fan of Ronnie Milsap’s music—I can remember coming to Nashville and visiting his Music Row studio when I was just a kid of 19. His producer, Rob Galbreath was very encouraging to me and I noticed on Ronnie’s album notes that Charlie McCoy was a huge part of his studio team—he had a real thread through Ronnie’s major hits. I managed to track down Charlie’s number, and picked up the phone and called him. It was the beginning of a friendship that’s lasted more than 20 years and he’s been a tremendous asset to my career in music.”

Hatfield’s latest album, A Little More Time, finds him in studio with Charlie McCoy, in a return gig as session leader of an all star Nashville “A” team of musicians. The project was co-produced by Vince and Grammy winning engineer, Eric Paul.

With songs that are impacting listeners from Japan to Europe, Vince puts his successful Texas based energy business on hold for frequent trips to Nashville and his ever growing success on the music side. When not working he enjoys life with his wife and three kids,(ages 16, 14, and 11) at home—or on his ranch. Thirty-eight miles outside of Big Spring the ranch covers seven continuous square miles with several sections of the land ‘high fenced’ to hold an animal community of elk, black buck antelope, and other exotics. Since buying the ranch in 2000, Vince has enjoyed the challenge of “making the land prettier” amidst a setting of rambling creek, mesquite, cedars and cactus.

On a recent trip to Nashville to record a Gospel album, the sturdy Texan felt a bit of ‘divine intervention’ through his land.

“We had had a really dry spell and before going to Nashville I went out to look at my cattle—I run about 400 head on the ranch—and I remember thinking ‘if it doesn’t rain, I’ll have to sell a good many of them when I get back from this next trip.’

I went up to Nashville to record the gospel album and when I got back—I couldn’t wait to drive out to the ranch. I found out that while I was gone it had rained—over an inch in fact—after weeks of drought--the land was revitalized. I felt like God was saying, “I told you if you’d do that gospel album, I’d take care of things while you were away.” And so He did.

If there’s a message in Vince Hatfield’s career perhaps it’s this: Beyond the years of the day-to-day of hard work and making a living—there’s the fruit of a boyhood dream that’s finally come true.
