Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, EJ''s parents, Frieda and Edmond, were Chippewa Indian and Canadian French. He''s is the 8th child in a family of 12. While EJ was not in the Military, due to high blood pressure, all four of his brothers did serve and it was for them: Orran White, Noel Fortin, Steve Fortin and Rocque Fortin; a work partner from Kewadin Shores names Lee, a Christian friend named Dan Bower, and all Veterans that he wrote this song: "The Veteran".
Since the age of 14 EJ has been playing the guitar given to him by his step father Carl Hansen. With the aid of one of his older sisters, he quickly learned the chords and chord progression and was quickly ready to face the world! At the age of 16, he joined a rock and roll band and started playing at local bars.
While music took a back seat for a number of years as EJ worked full time and raised a wonderful family. But even while working full time he managed to continue to find some time to continue song writing and making music.
And in 2008 an anonymous, wonderful Christian woman blessed EJ with the gift of financing the launch of his music career. With that was born the trip to Nashville and the release of his debut single, "The Veteran".
EJ is married and lives seasonally in Michigan and Florida with his wife Brenda. He has a son Chad, grandsons Nicholas and Blain, and grand-daughter Hailey. He also has 3 step sons- Kenneth (with his children Jessica, Ashley and Ken Jr.), Dennis and Curtis. With eleven siblings he has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well. His family is very close and is very important to EJ.
EJ has several songs written and plans to release on both Christian and Country albums soon.
In a final family note, not to leave the sisters unmentioned, they are Rea Loverige, Laura Lee Boland, Vivian Lowery, Eileen Seabolt, Denise Fortin, Sandra Botsford and Carla Suave.
