This is easy-listening music with a jazz-and-blues based approach. There are fifteen songs, thirteen with words, and two instrumentals. There are 10 top-flight professional artists showcased including a Tony-award winner vocalist, Adriane Lenox, and a winner of several songwriting and piano-playing competitions, Danny Kean, who also did wonderful work as the producer of the album.
The words and music were written by George Bouchard, a professional jazz saxophone player and Professor of Jazz Studies at Nassau Community College on Long island. In addition to writing the music for this album, George wrote an important and critically acclaimed book in the jazz idiom---Intermediate Jazz Improvisation.
Several experienced, versatile, and top-flight professional musicians were brought in to complete the date. You will find groove tunes, sensitive ballads, and uptempo swingers on this recording. There are five vocalists as well as four soloists, including the versatile and talented Carl Fischer, currently playing trumpet in Billy Joel''s road band.
