Details:
Garneau has recently completed their debut album Road With No Signs with 5 time Grammy award winning producer/engineer, Bruce Swedien, and up and coming recording engineer, Keith Henderson in Bruce''s legendary West Viking Studios. Although Bruce is no stranger to the music industry, this is his first fully produced album. He is most noted for his recording and mixing of 14 of Quincy Jones'' albums including the number 1 selling pop album of all time, "Thriller". He has also worked with artists such as J-Lo, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Sara Vaughn, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Michael Jackson, just to name a few. He is a true living legend in the music industry and has even been coined "The Godfather Of Recording".
Whether you like smooth jazz, gospel, funk, R&B, blues or pop, this album has it all. Comfortable in multiple settings, their fresh approach to an old school sound is inviting and impressive. After listening to Garneau''s intuitive sound, Bruce commented, "I haven''t been this excited about an album for many many years". He then encouraged the group to pursue a full length LP over the original Demo Project. Bruce along with Manager/Production Manager/vocalist, Dave Waller, The Garneau Family, and assistant Engineer/Bass player, Keith Henderson, gave life to a father''s dream of creating music with his two boys. The addition of many brilliant artists including 3 time Grammy winning arranger/composer Jeremy Lubbock, vocalist Brent Carter, Jeff Oster, Kenny Soderbloom, Mason Embry, mastering legend Bernie Grundman and many more have given this fairy tale a happy ending. With 18-year old guitarist Jordan Garneau and 14-year old drummer Josh Garneau, backed by this extraordinary cast of musicians, the album is a masterful merging of the new generation and older generation coming together to create something very special.
Just as this exciting new direction was underway, father and keyboard artist Kent Garneau''s life began slipping away. An aggressive form of cancer gripped his body, wrestling the energy from his life. On November 29th, 2007, just 4 weeks after his diagnosis, Kent passed away leaving only a few musical sketches and a dream that his two sons would continue to keep the dream alive.
Jordan : With “the soul of a seventy-five year old bluesman wrapped in a young man’s body," lead guitarist Jordan brings a full range of medium and techniques, acoustic to electric, finger-picking to slide, his expressive and soulful style, layered with rich chords, phrases, and tones has been inspired by the blues, jazz, and gospel masters. This young prodigy is unafraid to venture into the world of Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and James Taylor, delivering worthy renditions. Jordan resides in Ocala, Florida.
Josh : Although only 5''4", and 115 lbs, Josh plays drums with the strength of a 6''6", 250 lbs monster. His engaging personality and innate sense of timing combine to create a rhythmic experience underlying each song style. He teases you with his use of tonal color and percussion as he shows his versatility and expression. Listening to such artists as Phil Collins, Carter Beauford and Steve Jordan, Joshua is developing into a young prodigy with a promising career ahead. As an emerging artist, Joshua is fascinated with exploring new music and techniques. With the progress so far, more opportunities to express himself through this gift will certainly surface.
This inspiring album will be available in summer of 2008.
