Details:
Mike Kornrich started playing ukulele at age 9. He then went on to banjo and guitar. When Mike was doing the bar scene he would play a song or two on the uke and some jerk at the bar would say "Hey, it''s Tiny Tim...how ''bout Tip -Toe Through The Tulips?...and you even look a little like ''em" Mike got tired of hearing this so he never played uke much anymore.
Recently he decided to bring out the uke again. He has two nice old Martin ukes. The one used on all the songs on this album is a Martin style 2 soprano uke from the 1920’s It''s on the album cover.
The songs on this album are good old standards. Mike plays banjo on “Saint Louis Blues” and lap steel on “Down Among The Sheltering Palms”. That’s him playing harmonica on “Shenandoah”. You can hear Honky Tonk Henry playing piano on “Down Among The Sheltering Palms” and “Hot Time In The Old Town Tonight”.
