Dedicating her life to the friendly citizens and responsible merchants of her hometown, Miss Richfield 1981 is fast becoming one of America’s national treasures. This Midwestern maven is winning over theater and cabaret audiences around the country with an interactive format that combines homespun warmth and edgy improv, leaving audiences in hysterics with a truly original performance.
Miss Richfield’s national appeal includes riotous appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Today” on NBC, as well as prestigious mentions, such as The New York Post recently honoring “Miss Richfield 1981 as the must-see act in Provincetown.”
As well as sell-out performances throughout the country, including Chicago and New York, Miss R continues her sold-out reputation as the most successful act each summer at the Art House Theater in Provincetown, Mass. Miss R also finds time in her busy schedule to headline for Atlantis Events cruises and resort vacations, the largest LGBT vacation company.
This diverse and magnetic appeal of Miss Richfield, however, extends much wider to audiences such as a national scientific convention in New Orleans, a horse semen auction in Phoenix, and as a guest soloist with Doc Severinsen and the Minnesota Orchestra. The character also enjoys long-standing relationships with corporations, such as Norwegian Cruise Line, which again requested Miss R for the christening of “The Gem” this December in Boston and New York City.
What makes Miss Richfield unique is the combination of Midwestern sensibilities with an off-the-page humor, stemming from its creator Russ King. As a former journalist and Minnesota native, King created the character with a rich history that begins with her life-long goal of being crowned beauty queen of her first-ring suburb of Minneapolis. Since then, the character continues to promote the values and principles of Richfield, Minnesota, “where butter is a spice and gravy is a beverage.”
That depth and richness of the character, the one-on-one improv with the audience, a professionally trained singing voice, and an athletic approach to physical comedy, creates both fun and flexibility for Miss Richfield to bring her talent to any type of performance arena – stage, screen, or street!
Miss R invites you to join her online at https://www.tradebit.com, where she keeps a calendar of events and shares words of wisdom, such as her favorite Bible verse: “It’s important to be nice, but it’s nicer to be important.”
