About Waiting In Line
Waiting In Line was a title that was originally suggested by Phan Nguyen of Talent Show Recordings (the label that released Hello Dennis Driscoll in 1999). Phan and Dennis Driscoll were going to put out a set of discs compiling Driscoll''s earlier years but sadly, that never happened.
However, Driscoll decided to release everything digitally in July of 2008. That is how this new-old album was born! Originally, a lot of the material was released on Driscoll''s label which was (at the time in 1997 and such) called ''Brown Recordings.''
The earliest recorded song on this album is a Dennis Driscoll song from... probably 1983. It is called ''Popeye Can Kill Monsters'' and features Driscoll and his father, Les Driscoll who talks a bit at the end to say ''that''s very good.''
These songs were mainly recorded in Astoria, Oregon (at KMUN) and Ilwaco Washington (at Driscoll''s Ilwaco, Washington house) from the mid-''90s up until 1998 or so.
Enjoy the tape hiss and the Low-Fi rumble. Sweet dreams!
Note
Dennis Driscoll is an independent pop musician and cartoonist from the Pacific Northwest. Normally, he composes on the guitar, his computer or on a piano but also composes music while singing to himself.
