He began studying the piano at the age of seven with Laura Spaulding, and by age eleven he studied under the direction of Sandra Lawler. Andrew’s music training also includes theory with Betty Hines, pipe organ with Carol Hawkinson, and violin, which he plays in his church orchestra. Mr. Lapp had accompanied the Sarasota Christian High School Touring Choir, under the direction of Christine Ayala, from sixth through twelfth grade. Andrew has taken master lessons with several noted teachers; among them are Dr. Marc Silverman, Chairman, Ms. Rebecca Penneys, and Dr. Kevin Orr of the Manhattan, Eastman and U of FL Schools of Music respectively. In his spare time Andrew composes and his own arrangements of Inspirational music and has made several CDs of these and other works.
