Kuko Alamala comes out swinging with his debut Album “Si Ahora No,Cuando”(If not now, when?) . He delivers his life story in his own style. His Lyrics are so powerful he draws pictures with words. This entire album is based on his life experiences. Born in Newark, NJ to Puerto Rican Parents who, separated when he was five made for an interesting life to say the least. His mother a retired school teacher taught him Spanish at home at an early age. He never let on to how much he new, he always spoke and wrote in English. His parents will tell you he’s been singing since he was like 1 . Around the age of 13 he realized he had a talent for writing poems, and converting them into songs. He was quickly discouraged by his best friend at the time, when he said "What are you doing, you sound weird". But as fate would have it, while on a group trip to the Dominican Republic, He would sing (After a few Drinks) "Senora" by Tito Rojas in front of several woman, to his amazement they loved it, inspiring him to continue trying to achieve his dream of becoming an Artist. In October of 2002, while visiting a relative in the hospital Kuko & Masa (His original partner, who is now a full time producer/writer) started talking. Despite knowing each other for years, neither knew of each others talents until that day. Then and there, Alamala was born. After recording at several different studios, spending a lot of money, and getting no where, Kuko decided that owning his own studio would be more beneficial. Logic (despite being the hardest to learn) was what most Engineers recommended. He went out and purchased a full digital studio and many, many, many books and taught himself how to engineer a studio. Kuko Alamala writes, produces, composes, and arranges. To add to his resume he is responsible for all of the Art Work on his CD. The entire Album was completely funded by Kuko Alamala. "People always ask about my style of music and how did it come about. I tell them I was born and raised in Newark NJ much like NYC an extremely diverse city. Like most if not all Puerto Rican''s, I grew up Listening to Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Salsa, Meringue, Bachata and since it''s beginning, Reggaeton. All of these different styles have influenced me in one way or another, and that is why you hear a little bit of every thing in my music. This album is basically my Diary my Autobiography, I welcome you into my world”.
