-"My two favorites are "Always Kiss Good Night " - who was that great male vocalist? (David Coate) - and that beautiful one about your children: "Precious!"
-“I see that God has blessed you again with this CD.”
Julie’s lyrics cover everything from her conversion story in the spirited "Get in the Water" complete with banjo, clarinet and a gospel choir, to the beautiful love duet: "Always Kiss Good Night" based on Ephesians 4:26, to the heart stirring lullaby for her yet unborn twins: "Precious," to the anthem: "American Memory" written after 911.
Two of the songs on this collection were originally written for women’s conferences: “Secure in Heart” is a real and yet humorous look at her personal insecurities and the only real answer (based of the book by that title by author, Robin Weidner) and “Martha, Martha,” about how she is so like Martha in Luke 10 – like so many of us are.
The title cut of the CD, “Grace” is a deliciously smooth jazz number, including a jazz violin and a SCAT solo, that hits home with its message of our personal need for grace from loved ones and mostly our Lord.
A large and marvelous cast of professional musicians lent their gifts to this production including her talented husband, producer and keyboardist, Ralph Kinscheck; her brilliant brothers Chris and Gary Gibbons on bass and drums; the fantastic Jim Peterson on lead guitar, internationally known Joe Galeota on Percussion and many more.
Finally, all of the lyrics are printed in the CD insert, including scripture references that go with each song.
Julie''s voice is captivating, her lyrics both deep and humorous at times. “She got a great voice- You’ll love Julie!” – Metronome Magazine. A big thumbs up for "Grace with Jazz on Top"!

Short Biography:
Julie Kinscheck was born Julie Alice Gibbons to a very musical family, daughter of a minister, in the college town of Ithaca, New York. She began writing her own music and singing with her guitar publicly at churches and talent shows at age nine. At that time she was heavily influenced by the talents of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and the Beatles. At the same time she was soaking in the funky stylings of Earth, Wind and Fire, The Doobie Brothers and Chaka Kahn all played by her brothers'' band.
After a street musician tour of Europe, Julie went to hone her skills in composition and arranging at Oberlin Conservatory. While there she discovered vocal jazz! She loved to scat sing and began integrating improvisation into her folk style. She eventually transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston where she achieved her Bachelor of Music, cum laude on a full scholarship, and received various vocal and songwriting awards.
At Berklee she also met her future husband, and collaborator, keyboardist Ralph Kinscheck.
As Julie went after making a living in music, she played in numerous cover and original pop/ rock/ jazz and gospel groups. See resume for details. She immersed herself for a time in the pop sounds of Bonnie Raitt, Madonna, Gloria Estefan, and Whitney Houston; later she took a ride on the country tide, covering hot country singers like Trisha Yearwood and Shania Twain. Some have compared Julie to Sheryl Crow, or Edie Brickell, but better.
After an awakening of her faith in the early 90''s she began playing a long string of church events, conferences and benefit shows. She was even the musical director of the all woman a cappella gospel/ jazz group: Faith in Action, collaborating with the Boston Ballet, Bobby McFerrin and others. They released a CD entitled: "Faith in Action Live"
Also in 2006, she released a Christian pop-rock CD for kids with husband/producer, Ralph Kinscheck and the band PTB: The Force
Along side her music career, Julie has been a music teacher both in the public schools and by teaching private voice and guitar out of her home. She is the mother of four year old (as of 2008) twins. Like many independent artists, Julie deeply desires to lift her family out of debt and make a difference in people''s lives with her music- she prays this CD will be the vehicle to make that happen.
Julie Kinscheck is a unique blend of heart and harmony, with a passionate yet relatable stage manner making her a favorite for audiences of all ages. Join this soulful songbird''s dream to change the world heart by heart, starting with a song.
