Scrumpy and Western was Born in the West Country Of Great Britain, Home of the "Pilgrim Fathers" in recent history it was driven forward by "Adge Cutler and the Wurzels" until Adge was tragicaly killed in a car accident.
The Cutlers Of Cornwall have taken the name "Cutler" as a mark of respect for Adge, and along with a number of other "West Country" bands like the "Mangledwuzels" The band are doing all that they can to bring this ethnic music to a wider audience.
The Cornwall part of the name relates to the fact that the band hails from Cornwall "The Fourth Celtic Nation" a proud land steeped in history, music, humour and tragedy, although most of the songs are humorous, "The Miners Wife" is based on a true story.
When a miner was killed or seriously injured, his family would often become destitute, The mine owners would order that the doors and windows be removed from the family cottage in order to speed eviction. This is the story of one such eviction as seen through the mothers eyes, this took place in Camborne, Cornwall.
Trelawney is the National Anthem of Cornwall, words written by Rev Hawker, This arrangment begs that you close your eyes and visualise the knights leaving Tintagel Castle on mighty chargers with banners flying in the wind, riding to Trelawney''s aid.
As for the rest of the songs, relax, listen, Pour yourself a drink and have fun, this is not Mozart! want to know more about the band, check out https://www.tradebit.com
