Details:
Instrumental guitarist Soul To Strings was always influenced by many different styles of music. While his normal sound on debut self-titled CD focuses more on melodic rock songs, "Change Is..." reflects several other aspects of music.
Heavily influenced by blues greats Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, & Robert Cray, there are many elements of blues rock here. An admitted gear/tone freak, Soul To Strings powers up some of the best equipment on the market for his guitar tones also.

NOTES ON THE SONGS
1. Tip of the Hat - This is a blues song patterened after many of the blues instrumentals made over the years. A specific influence for most all of Soul To Strings work in the blues area would be SRV''s "Scuttle Buttin''" song.
2. Tidal Wave - This is a surf guitar song played with a real Fender standalone spring reverb unit. Obvious influences here would be Gary Hoey or Dick Dale.
3. Kentucky Fried Guit Pickin'' - Being born & raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky it was necessary to hear lots of great country pickers in the Nashville & KY area. I wanted to capture that upbeat twangy tone, so a Telecaster & Fender Twin got the job done nicely.
4. Like You Just Don''t Care - A funk song at heart, which was originally tracked for a vocalist to hopefully sing over. The solo is on the spot improv. Note the nylon string acoustic that sneaks in during the solo for backing chords.
5. Heartbeat/Bella - This is a combo of 2 songs actually. Heartbeat is a soft nylon acoustic piece using some unique chords. Bella is a short Spanish guitar piece.
6. Baby Powder & Gasoline - This song was influenced by a funny event while I was out bowling. Our friend spilled gasoline in his truck, and to cover the scent he decided baby powder would work. It was the best of both worlds! This song has a strong Robben Ford / Larry Carlton using overdrive vibe. Recorded with a Matchless DC-30 amp, Fender USA Telecaster, & a menatone Howie pedal.
7. Short N Sweet - This is a soft blues song in the vein of Robert Cray. Believe it or not, this was recorded on a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb amps "vintage" setting.
8. Honk #4 - One of my personal favorites, this is a rockin'' blues tune with lots of strat in-between "quack" pickup selections.
9. Waltz Wizard - A Buddy Guy influenced song with a bit of SRV thrown in for good measure. Waltz Blues, plain & simple.
10. 13 (White Noise) - This is an acoustic piece with a haunting undertone.
