MP3 Tim Hathorn - Livin' the Tradition

Eleven instrumentals featuring Resophonic guitar (dobro), fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, and string bass. Arrangements run the gamut from bluegrass to swing to blues with a waltz here and there-even some great Gospel tracks. Powerful stuff.

11 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Bluegrass, COUNTRY: Country Blues

Details:
Tim Hathorn, playing the resophonic guitar (dobro) since age 12 has performed over 35 years in many groups with styles varying from bluegrass, the blues, and even traditional country. Tim has performed all over the Southeast with many artists including Mac Wiseman, Raymond Fairchild and the Crowe Brothers, Jerry and Tammy Sullivan, The Sullivan Family, Gary Waldrep, and Sweet Dixie. Tim also recently had a part in the recording of "I Hear Mississippi Calling", the critically-acclaimed latest release of The Jason Boone Band. He has performed at Opryland and New Orleans Jazzfest.

His style is greatly influenced by the likes of Josh Graves, "Bashful Brother" Oswald, and Gene Wooten and the more modern licks of Mike Auldridge, Rob Ickes, and the "Flux", Jerry Douglas. Tim has masterfully melded the styles of these giants and others into his own!

On this CD engineered by Jon Raney, Tim is joined by world-class fiddler Tim Crouch who contributes not only fiddles but plays guitar and mandolin superbly. Also heard here is Hathorn''s long-time friend and picking pal Don Robinson playing bass and also banjo on four of the tracks.

This project has a little-or better said-a lot of it all! Tim scorches breakdowns such as "Reuben", "Fireball" and "Dobro Chimes"! Country ballads such as "Maiden''s Prayer", "Wednesday Night Waltz", "I''ll Be All Smiles Tonight" and "Faded Love" makes you want to dance close to your loved one! He really "swings" with country blues favorites, "False Hearted Lover" and "Foggy Mountain Rock". Hathorn and crew really shine on Gospel greats "How Great Thou Art" and "Great Speckled Bird."

No instrumental collection should be without this powerful CD!
