Peter J. Yanowitch is a Miami based composer. “Harmoniam” is the third album of his songs, encompassing a wide array of Jazz styles and textures. Peter J. Yanowitch''s previous recordings,”Getting There” and “Truer Words”, were released to much acclaim. His music has been performed at the Carnival Center in Miami, and has been featured on Miami''s 88.9 WDNA Jazz radio.
"Harmoniam" features the incredible New York based Jazz Trumpeter, Ron Horton. Since 1982, trumpeter Ron Horton has been an integral part of New York''s flourishing jazz scene and he stands out both as an exemplary instrumentalist and as a highly progressive composer and arranger.
Ron Horton has had many long musical associations with leaders such as saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and pianist Andrew Hill. He has also had an integral collaboration with New York''s Jazz Composers Collective, going back to its inception in 1992. Horton appears on several recordings by the other members of the group, such as Ben Allison and Michael Blake. Ron Horton is an original member of the Herbie Nichols Project, a group co-led by Frank Kimbrough and Allison, that is dedicated to performing known and unknown compositions of the late, great pianist.
Other artists Ron Horton has performed with include Lee Konitz, Rez Abbasi, Phillip Johnston, Andy Laster, Mick Rossi, Matt Wilson, Bill Gerhardt, Bill Mays, Peggy Stern, Allan Chase, Andy Biskin, Ted Nash, Jon Gordon, John McKenna, Walter Thompson, Diana Perez, Billy Newman, Mario Pavone, Tina Marsh, and is currently a member of the Will Holshouser Trio and Ben Allison''s "New Quartet" and "Man-Sized Safe".
"Harmoniam" is also shaped by Landon Knoblock, his performance and his contributions to the song arrangements. Landon Knoblock is a creative pianist, an ambitious composer, and an adventurous improviser. Hailed as “a superb pianist” by Ed Blanco of https://www.tradebit.com, Landon’s music is passionate and spontaneous. His trio has been described by Robert De Virtis of https://www.tradebit.com as “three musicians who concentrate on the most essential musical elements, intent and inspired in the creation of a modern music, carefully crafted and direct, and with impressive interplay.”
Some notable performances include performing with Grammy Award winning Arturo Sandoval, backing jazz vocalist Kevin Mahogany, and opening for the virtuosic Italian pianist Antonello Salis. Landon Knoblock has performed at Twins Jazz in Washington DC, the Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club in Miami, and many other notable US jazz venues. Internationally, he has performed at the Young Jazz in Town Festival in Italy, as well as in Japan and South America.

Steve Pardo is a saxophonist/composer/arranger who made significant contributions to the Harmoniam song arrangements, and their performance. Steve hails from Chicago. He graduated from the University of Miami Frost School of Music with a Masters degree. There he studied under Gary Lindsay in the Studio Jazz Writing program. Steve also earned his bachelor''s degree at the University of Miami in Studio Music and Jazz, where he performed with top school ensembles, including the acclaimed Concert Jazz Band and the Frost Jazz Sextet. Steve is currently working in and around the South Florida area with local bands and with a number of groups performing original music. Steve has had the pleasure to perform/record with or alongside Jim Black, John Hollenbeck, Slide Hampton, Ed Calle, Andy Middleton, Marcus Roberts, and Mark Colby among others.
Austin McMahon Austin McMahon is an American jazz drummer/accompanist of the highest caliber. He has accompanied countless notable names in the jazz world including saxophonists: Joe Lovano, Jerry Bergonzi, David Liebman & George Garzone. He is a mainstay in Warner Brothers Jazz vocalist/recording artist Lea Delaria’s quartet and has performed with the Joe Davidian trio as an opening act for Grammy award-winning vocalist Dianne Reeves and Jane Monheit.
On tour, Austin has performed at Carnegie Hall, Bar Harbor Jazz Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, and FONT (Festival of New Trumpeters). Internationally, he has appeared at Casa de Teatro Jazz Festival (held in the Dominican Republic), and Young Jazz in Town Festival (held in Foligno, Italy); in addition to performances in Germany, Finland, and upcoming appearances in Korea and Ireland in 2008.
Jay Foote is a bassist/composer/improvisor who plays music in New York City. He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he performed with the award-winning Jazz Band One and is featured on two recordings, Leap of Faith and West Coastin''. Through the program at UNI, he has performed with Kenny Werner, Matt Wilson, Maria Schneider, Rich Perry, and Ray Anderson. Jay Foote also attended the University of Iowa and studied with contrabass virtuoso Volkan Orhon, and the late great Robert Paredes. He completed his Master''s thesis about the politics of Charlie Haden (in relation to his music and the Liberation Music Orchestra) from William Paterson University in May 2005.
Since moving to Brooklyn, Jay Foote has performed and recorded with Sufjan Stevens, Kenny Wolleson''s Orchestra Slang, featuring the great Butch Morris, Anglica Sanchez, Ron Horton and The New York Soundpainting Orchestra. He also performs with Trixie Whitley, Fulton Lights and Matt Bauer. For two years Jay Foote worked for Mythology Records, David Binney''s record company. He is also a founding member of the Brooklyn/Montreal-based composers collective Addtract Consortium. In July 2006, he was invited by the US Embassy in Saana, Yemen to perform concerts as a part of a diplomatic effort in the War on Terror. Jay Foote aso performed on Jim Saltzman''s Hidden Intentions, which was selected by the Boston Globe as one of the "Best Jazz Albums of 2007".
