"August Ocean Overture," jazz piano by Michael Guy
Artist/Band: Michael Guy, jazz pianist

Jazz piano Debut CD of all originals by jazz composer and pianist, Michael A. Guy - All instrumentals with the flavor of the Tropical Oceans. Includes the popular "Ocean Prelude, Seabreeze in G, "Big-WAVE Rider" which all priemered in November 2007 on the website: "Creative Thinkers International. And also the popular but Neo-swing quartet styling of Duke''s Groove. (also premiered on CTI in 2007). This CD is a compilation of his best piano music since year 2000, and includes a couple of his Jazz Dance Electronica compositions since 1995 entitled "Jazz Dance Image"
These electric quartet group compositions were recorded in studios in the 1990''s but never released.
"Duke''s Groove" is a short uptempo jazz stomp dedicated to his favorite Black American jazz composer: Duke Ellington. It is a compact tune less than 4 minutes that features his uncanny ability to solo in the voice of the instrument he is emulating on MIDI keyboards. In this case here a Sax solo with backing horns.
The second electric Quartet composition from his 1990''s "studio work sessions" is the theme music for his self-start JAZZ CD label: https://www.tradebit.com called "Jazz Dance Image". It is a "tour-de-force" of smooth jazz and country styled jazz beats and patterns done on sequencers. But it''s long format time of over 8 minutes prevented it from being used as a promotional track.
If you''re a fan of electric smooth jazz and electric New Age you will enjoy the second half of this CD that is essentially an earlier CD that was never released.
All of his later solo piano compositions are on the first 10 tracks of the CD and were recorded in "live studio" sessions. These are the recent "live studio" sessions from the summers of 2005, 2006, 2007 on Digital 2-track. All the playing is in the spirit of "live" jazz performance although none were recorded before audiences.

Michael Guy originally debuted in the summer of 1984 in small concerts in Massachusetts and New York City - following that he worked in New York city in music publishing at then Warner Brothers, but spent many years in seclusion in Florida, composing while undergoing treatment for Kidney Dialysis.
