BIG JUGS is your Grandpa''s favorite country band, but don''t expect to find the album anywhere around his house. He won''t bring it out at Thanksgiving while the family sits down at the bird. And no, you won''t find the record in the front room between his Merle and Willie vinyl. Grandma may not even know the album exists. You see, Grandpa hides it out in the barn next to his old ass kickin’ boots. It''s from a time when he used to spit tobacco in the face of danger, drink whiskey till sun was rising and knock the dickens out of any man who wore a sour grin. He even had his own robe down at the local bordello, where he seldom had to pay. And his favorite band was BIG JUGS.
BIG JUGS was formed in the hills of Santa Barbara, CA. Many of the songs are moonshine fueled expressions of sexual relationships gone sour. Other topics cover blue collar existence, life in the hills, and their love for the booze that keeps ‘em going.
Each member adds a unique contribution to the experience as a whole. Vegas Washington fronts the band of misfits on vocals and banjo. He is a rhinestone cowboy with a filthy mouth and general disrespect for women and metrosexual men. Woodburn Burnwood plucks away at a stand up bass. He’s a hunter and a drinker and spent a good part of his life working on the railroad. Lazer Alouishious shreds the washboard with ferocity. He is a true mountain man with a taste for illegal drugs of both the herbal and chemical nature. Eugene Burlap brushes a snare and plays a saw. Eugene was only recently released from mental health care facilities in the burlap sack he now wears. At lease he says they released him. Leeroy Dynamite is a dobro picker and lead shredder. He has played piano and tended bar since he was 12 in the saloon downtown ,so he can outplay and out drink almost any man alive. General Sherman rounds out the posse with the sweet sounds of the mandolin. General ain’t too good with time and is often runnin’ late, which is why he often doesn’t have time to get dressed.
