"https://www.tradebit.com - One band. One year. 365 songs."
March, 2007. It''s still early in the year, but with a full quarter of music behind them, Beatnik Turtle is pressing forward with their challenge to release 365 songs in one year.
March contains the next 31 tracks that would make up 1/12 of Beatnik Turtle''s output for 2007. With 365 slots to fill up, Beatnik Turtle cranked the creativity knob to "11" and filled the month with geek pop-rock goodness including their rocking updates to a few traditional Irish drinking songs for St. Patrick''s Day ("Beer Beer Beer," "All For Me Grog," and "Whiskey Yer The Devil") that would later go on to inspire their full-length album, Sham Rock.
Beyond the updated Irish songs, some other stand outs from March include:
"Star Wars (A Film Like No Other)" - the story of the original Star Wars Trilogy summed up in a 3 minute Irish pub song. The video has been featured at Atom Films.
"Gee Cee Dee" - an ode to the most common guitar chord progression.
"I Want My Papasan Back" - one man''s lament for the return of his favorite chair.
"Toilet Seat" - an Irish ballad that tells the continuing battle of the sexes that began with Thomas P. Crapper''s invention.
And many, many more.
Collect all 12 albums and enjoy Beatnik Turtle''s amazingly rich and creative year of song-writing.
