Here is the four star review we received in International Music Magazine Rock''n''Reel
"West Cumbrian Based singer-songwriter Judith Jones displays a penchant for southern flavoured Americana on her debut twelve track album, Calling Yesterday Back. Recruiting the talents of Albert Lee, Rod Godwin(Badfinger) John Marcangelo and ex Van Morrison guitarist, Richard Nelson amongst others. Jones nevertheless exerts her authority over the proceedings.
She lets her own voice speak while managing, with ease, to handle an admirable range of styles and approaches – from a sublime reading of Lucinda Williams’ “Lake Charles” through the passionate, Jazz flavoured blues of “Drown in My Own Tears” and a confident reading of Hoagy Carmichael’s “Georgia”, to the up-tempo country-rock of Parson and McGuinn’s “Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man”.
She wins plaudits for the poignant and powerful title track, it’s subject Jones’s search for he birth mother, deeply personal material that might have easily proven syrupy in the wrong hands., but here stands out as one of the album’s highlights. Its gently persuasive melody and mandolin and accordion colourings add a folky element to her already diverse musical palette."
