Details:
The seed to The 21st Impact was planted in early 1995 when 5 friends (Daniel Mohlén - Vocals, Ronnie Nyman - Bass, Robert Andersson - Guitars, Jonny Mattson - Guitars & Magnus Ingels - Drums) formed the band Peal. After a couple of demos, the release of an EP on local D.I.Y. label Bleck Records and a great number of gigs during a 2 year period, the band slowly began to dissolve.
After the split the members started to venture out into new musical constallations until finally reuniting in 1999, this time without Robert and with Petro Holmgren joining on bass. And so, Ronnie could finally make the switch to playing guitar, his main instrument. The goal was to play hardcore in the same vein as Sick Of It All, Biohazard and Madball. After recording 2 demos and playing a countless number of gigs throughout Sweden, they rightfully earned the reputation of being an energetic live-act. During 2000 Jonny decided to leave the band to concentrate on studies and the obvious choice for replacement, original Peal-guitarist Robert Andersson, joined the band.
At a gig in Lulea, Sweden supporting Raised Fist they got to talk to Raised Fist-singer Alle who had contacts at Freedumb Records in Canada, which led to a record deal.
In September 2002 The 21st Impact released the album "Second To None" (Freedumb Records), consisting of 10 songs from their previous 2 demos in Canada only.
By the end of 2002 bass player Petro felt it was time to move on, and so Matte W Jarnil (previously in Crawley, Lost Souls) joined the band.
During 2003 the band focused on writing new songs for the next album and playing various gigs and in sept-oct 2003 they did a 6-week coast to coast tour of Canada supporting
Raised Fist.
2004 started off in E.A.R studios, Uppsala-Sweden, recording the next demo titled, "By all means, Necessary".
It was recorded through jan-feb 04, and were mixed later in april.
Later 21st vent back to Canada for another tour, this time for 2 weeks in may-june, with the Canadian band The Video Dead, which they met on the Raised Fist tour last time around.
During that tour 21st broke the contract with the label in Canada, Freedumb recordz.
Also the band parted ways with guitarist Robert Andersson. Former bassplayer Petro Holmgren are now liveguitarist with the band.
2005 has been filled with more new studiorecordings and playing aprox 20 shows in Scandinavia.
2006 started off with the release of the second album “By all means necessary”. Issued under the label NAW and distributed in scandinavia through Sound Pollution.
Later in 2006 Matte Jarnil quit the band, new members were found in Andreas Berthagen (guitar) and Martin Sveningsson (bass). Some more shows followed.
Since in late 2007 The 21st Impact are on a “break” for the time being.
