ONLY BELIEVE can be a cliché just like JESUS SAVES, which was just that when I was a boy growing up in the environment of church and a Christian home. That happens when something is repeated a lot. REVIVAL is another term that became a cliché. But revival is exactly what I would like to propose for these nuggets of foundational truth. Those words were used in abundance because they were the boiled-down freedom cries of a common people who had discovered that the power of God to transform mankind had been made accessible to them. That power is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That Gospel is really good news to the weary, the oppressed, the rejected; and is received, not attained through ritual and dogma. God’s love is for every person who will believe on the One He sent, Jesus.

Terry Clark
Terry Clark’s voice and keyboards were first heard in the early ‘70s in Texas in The Children of Faith, then in Europe in the mid ‘70s as a member of the live version of the band LIBERATION SUITE. His voice has been a regular part of Maranatha!Music’s productions since the late 70’s, including 7 years of Promise Keepers projects.
Terry’s music is designed to direct the listener to an intimate contact with the heavenly Father, and his life has been a process of developing that communication. His spiritual roots run deep in generations of the Gospel message and music, but Terry broke out of that safe bubble and ventured into the world to sample its smorgasbord of experiences. Twenty-something and burned out, he pushed away from the world’s reality, humiliated to be a human being. In that condition he heard a familiar voice, it was Terry’s childhood friend, Jesus.
As Jesus revealed the love He has for human beings, it transformed Terry. Now he understood the real reason for being a part of the human race. He was restored as his dependencies shifted to the One who had answered the question: Is there a reason for this life? A life of intimacy with his Savior and “Big Brother” began. His songs are simply windows through which one can see and participate in that private, personal relationship.
Terry’s first recordings, WELCOME &MELODIES, were contemporary Christian albums on Good News Records/Word and contained several Christian Music radio “hits” in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s including Ugadano Thawanu Maija and Jesus Is At The Wheel.
Terry saw the desperate need in the world for more intimate contact with God and realized that the Lord had challenged him to open those windows into his one-on-One personal relationship with Jesus.
Those songs and Terry’s personal ministry have led the way to that same intimacy for many and were recorded on albums entitled LIVING WORSHIP and LET’S WORSHIP.
“More than ever people are feeling the need to deeply know God. If we ignore the inner cry for intimate communication with God, we become hard of hearing, unable to recognize His voice when He speaks to us.”
Albums that followed were:
HEAVEN IS NOT THAT FAR AWAY, containing message-oriented music, focusing on relational issues in both the Christian and non-Christian’s lives;
IN THE SECRET PLACE,
a family worship time with songs which convey the central message of intimacy with our Lord.
Maranatha!Music produced LIVE WORSHIP with TERRY CLARK & MARANATHA!SINGERS.
Terry’s close friend and true musical genius, Roby Duke, began producing Terry’s albums with U-GADA-NO. He has the ability to bring out the best in Terry in the studio setting.
Next came THIS CHRISTMAS, an original musical that portrays the real meaning of Christmas.
LOVE HEALS expresses the transforming power of God’s love. This album, as with the rest of Terry’s work, is personal testimony of his encounters with this supernatural love that heals.
ONLY BELIEVE, revels in a personal viewing of the majesty of our Creator and the life He has given those who “believe on the One He sent.” Timeless musical textures from our world’s rich cultures provide vivid settings for each vista. Track 1 is a remake of Terry’s classic God You’re So Good; track 11, the compelling standard Softly And Tenderly. A fitting package for this gallery of God’s extreme goodness in showing us His majesty and an act of love aimed at bringing us to that all-important choice - to “come home”.
Terry’s latest solo release, THE PRIZE, is an in-depth survey of the Prize that Jesus paid for in full and that the Apostles all encouraged us to press toward winning. The joy of running to win that Prize far surpasses any pleasure given by creeds or dogmas. There is only one Jesus and there is only one life in Him, an eternal one.
TC&MM - 20 Years of Worship - Released in 2008 is a compilation of original masters from Maranatha!Music and Promise Keepers projects between 1980 - 2000. It includes 15 of over 60 lead vocals Terry did during those years.
