The Trophy Wives (nee Welcome Strangers) are vocalist and resophonic guitarist P.D. Riches with Cameron Macintosh (Roadkill Rodeo, Ships & Thieves) playing guitar, banjolin, harmonica and occasionally clarinet, and David Nelson (Killjoys, Barnlaid) on double bass.
“… Riches’ voice is sensitive and from the heart.”

P.D. first began writing and playing music as a solo artist. He drew heavily on his love of literature for his rich and evocative lyrics, combining them with the distinctive sound of the resophonic guitar.
After releasing ‘Measure’ in 2001, a full-length album recorded with Jen Anderson (WPA, Tim Rogers) and featuring the Welcome Strangers, P.D. took a four-year hiatus from music.
He began playing a handful of solo shows in late 2006 before getting together with the Trophy Wives and launching the new band at their ‘debutante ball’ in May 2007.
