Details:
The Mark Riley Trio is a Seattle area band that has been playing together for the past 4 years. This band plays highly energetic blues. The band plays mostly original tunes with flavors ranging from rock to blues to bayou gumbo, Robert Johnson to early Peter Green''s Fleetwood Mac, to Hendrix, and even a touch of Cream.
Our approach to what we do and how we do it, differs from most bands we''ve seen lately that do their music in a "run of the mill" fashion. We don''t always follow our "arrangements" ,because we like to suprise our audience as well as ourselves with spontaneous combustion and new slants on our music. Keep ''em guessing as to what they might hear next.
Mark comes from a long and varied experience as both a sideman (for notables- Sam Andrew, Merrilee Rush, The Coasters, Kenny ''Blues Boss'' Wayne, Hubert Sumlin, Nancy Claire, Ron Holden)--as well as music score for film, songwriter, and music teacher.
Marty has had longtime road experience with Doug Kershaw, including records and televison, and concert appearances--including "Farm Aid".
Marty also records with his own project, MVP (the Martin Vadalabene Players).
Howard Hooper has been the hardest working bassist in the Pacific Northwest for about 20 years or so. He''s always where you need him to be.
Together, there is a special chemistry that cooks up into some very special music, very tasty---ya gotta have some!
