Jim Billie served as the chairman of The Seminole Tribe of Florida for more than twenty years. He is the most prominent Native American in the United States and is directly responsible for the business and financial success of the Seminole Tribe by opening the first indian bingo parlor in the United States in the 1970''s. Today the Seminole Tribe is self sufficient with their ownership of gaming casinos and the recent purchase of the Hard Rock Cafes and hotels world wide. Jim Billie is a prolific writer of Seminole legends and stories, turning them into important and sometimes humorous songs about the history and culture of the Seminole people. Jim continues singing and performing his songs at concerts and festivals throughout Florida and the US. "Native Son" is a sampling of the writing and vocal talents of one of the great Native American''s of our times, Jim Billie. "Native Son", Jim Billie''s initial album was first released in 1986 and digitally remastered and released on CD in 2006.
