The key positive of my album is that I include all of the
words to the songs with the album packet. I also play
all of the instruments and do all the vocals, except
for the first song, the album title song, "Act Of Love. "
It was recorded by a great country band at Hilltop
records, in California. A great country tear jerker!
The first song was written aboard a USCG cutter in the
North Atlantic in 1952. The last song was written and
recorded in Branson, MO. , in 1999. After many years of
expense and time I have finally got them distributed,
after being just admitted into ASCP as a writer and
pubisher. I am a retired Korean era vet, with a long life
in public and private security, and live by the grace of
the prince of peace. I started playing country music when I was 17 years old on a live TV show in Omaha, NE, called Country Store. The show ran for a year and was a great experience, when TV was all live. I was excused from school to perform. We lived in Branson, MO, for about nine years, where I wrote and recorded about 30 songs, copyrighted them, and distributed them on cassettes. I play lead guitar, rhythym guitar, and key a four track
digital piano with base, drums, banjo, and other generated
music sounds. I also do all the vocals and harmonize
on some of the songs. The capo on the end of my guitar
plays the accompaniment, and I play keyboard also for
turn-arounds. A super fast computer now has me marketing my songs in whatever way possible now, and hope that someday I will hear someone say," I like that song, who owns the copyright so that we can record it?
You''ll like this music if you like classic country. I
learned my open string playing from a gospel singer
that lived in the tenemant where I grew up, and could
really sing Arkansas gospel with clever guitar runs. I can''t read a lick of music and all is a god given talent. At 72 yrs. Old, I am hoping to realize some income
from my music. I normally play live with about 10k worth
of high tech equipment, that weighs about 2000 lbs, but
am getting to old to set it up and be my own sound
engineer. I also don''t have a van and my car won''t hold
all of the equipment. Most of my live playing now is
at area nursing homes, pro-bono. The style that I play in, i. e. , using a capo to key my digital keyboard for other tracks, is uniqueto me. I know of no other musician thatdoes this, as they usually use a midi, with organ pedals. Give this music a try, and perhaps you will adopt the same style of sounding like a one man band. Sincerly, Lawrence-Larry J. Jones
