The Absence of Matter referred to by followers simply as tAoM returns with the follow-up to their powerful self-titled debut. The sophomoric release "Paradox" is literally a continuation of the first album and was originally destined to be the second set of a double CD. According to the band, “We were really pleased with the results of our work and didn’t want to risk overwhelming the listener with too much material all at once. Releasing this sequel in isolation from the quietly successful first release prolongs the suspenseful listening experience.” The title track addresses the “Paradox” of life itself, a recurring theme throughout many of the songs. A two part industrial dance session follows beginning with “Entropy” an epic thesis on ‘global warming and the forthcoming ice age’ followed by “Inscription” an early single with a prophetic message of hope. Anticipated singles also include “Chemical” a treatise on human suffering and “Carnival” with its surreal backdrop. The "Paradox" album is described as a “collective odyssey for the mind.” Experimental videos for “Entropy,” "Presence," and "Paradox" have just been released.
