BIOGRAPHY
Prenestine Williams-Porter was born in Detroit, Michigan. The second of four children blessed to Rev. and Mrs. Welton Williams Sr. Later, Prenestine was blessed with two wonderful children and one grandson of her own. She teaches Vocal Music for the Detroit Board of Education and serves as Head Director at Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James C. Jones.
Prenestine is an anointed singer, soloist, director, and writer. She is an international singer, having sung in Israel, Haiti, Caribbean Islands, Sicily, Torino, Florence, and Milan, and several cities throughout the United States. Look for her on TCT Television Network and “The Word Network”. She has been featured several times on the international-syndicated Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel''s New Artist Showcase extravaganza, where Dr. Jones has told her “Girl you’re bad!” She has been in concert with Aretha Franklin, Lee Williams, Rance Allen, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee, and many others. She was one of the featured guest soloists for the National Progressive Baptist Convocation in 2005. Prenestine Williams-Porter is a winner of the world-famous N.Y.C. Apollo Theater Amateur Night competition. She has sung lead with choirs for the National Baptist Congress, USA Inc., as well as directed or headed her local District and State choirs. She believes two of her greatest accomplishments were being granted the opportunity to teach and direct for a 300-voice choir during the Lott Cary Convention in 1996 and for a 900-voice choir during the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education in 2003. Prenestine has been writing music for over fifteen years. She maintains the status of being a member of the National as well as the Detroit Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Her motto is, “I am blessed to be a blessing” and she affirms her only desire is to use her God-given talents to bless others and to be a servant of the Most High God.
